Vermeer and fashion - a match made in heaven?
A daring game, especially as the AI plays along.
Worries are justified! But!
I've left my mark too - and it shows. Well, I can see it. Damn, I need to practise my drawing.
What have I done?
This is deliberately ambiguous.
It was created with exactly.ai, an AI tool that generates images online via the browser, and in my humble opinion (and knowledge) these are the creators from the light side of the AI powers that be.
Why is that?
More on that later.
My lasting sadness at the end of 'Scribble Diffusion', which was my gateway drug on the incredible journey through the world of possibilities. The fact that AI is more than helpful in assisting me in my creative processes is not only a time saver in implementation, leaving me more time to be creative, but it is also a creative sparring partner for me and we feed off each other.
Back to the facts! How did I do it?
Mouse switched on. Digital drawing created. Prompt entered. AI model selected. And off you go. Make selection. Edit in Photoshop. Done!

When I visited Delft last summer, I was surprised at how openly the curators of the Vermeer House in Delft deal with the cultural heritage of Johann Vermeer. There I saw both AI-generated images in the style of Vermeer as well as versatile creative realisations and explorations of the motif ‘The Girl with the Pearl Earring’.
It is currently estimated that he produced 45 paintings, 35 of which can still be seen in museums and collections today. That really isn't many for his life's work.
I find his paintings very inspiring and special, almost unique and unmistakable in style. After visiting the exhibition, I found myself constantly generating curtains in my generated pictures and paintings - that I called "ainting".

So it was only a matter of time before I dared to work with such an AI model, because my credo is to only use my own material or to work with tools that deal transparently with copyrights and thus not only protect the artists but also remunerate them financially.

Es wurde mit exactly.ai erstellt, einem KI-Tool, das Bilder online über den Browser generiert, und meiner bescheidenen Meinung (und meinem Wissen) nach sind das die Schöpfer von der hellen Seite der KI-Mächte, die da sind.
Meine anhaltende Traurigkeit am Ende von 'Scribble Diffusion', das meine Einstiegsdroge in die unglaubliche Reise durch die Welt der Möglichkeiten war. Die Tatsache, dass mir die KI bei meinen kreativen Prozessen mehr als hilfreich ist, ist nicht nur eine Zeitersparnis bei der Umsetzung, so dass ich mehr Zeit für meine Kreativität habe, sondern sie ist auch ein kreativer Sparringspartner für mich, und wir befruchten uns gegenseitig.

Als ich letzten Sommer Delft besuchte, war ich überrascht, wie offen die Kuratoren des Vermeer-Hauses in Delft mit dem kulturellen Erbe von Johann Vermeer umgehen. Dort sah ich sowohl KI-generierte Bilder im Stil Vermeers als auch vielfältige kreative Umsetzungen und Erkundungen des Motivs „Das Mädchen mit dem Perlenohrring“.
Derzeit schätzt man, dass er 45 Gemälde geschaffen hat, von denen 35 heute noch in Museen und Sammlungen zu sehen sind. Das ist wirklich nicht viel für sein Lebenswerk.
Ich finde seine Bilder sehr inspirierend und besonders, fast einzigartig und unverwechselbar im Stil. Nach dem Besuch der Ausstellung ertappte ich mich dabei, wie ich in meinen generierten Bildern und Gemälden ständig Vorhänge erzeugte - das nannte ich „ainting“.
Es war also nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis ich mich an ein solches KI-Modell heranwagte, denn mein Credo ist es, nur eigenes Material zu verwenden oder mit Tools zu arbeiten, die transparent mit Urheberrechten umgehen und so die Künstler nicht nur schützen, sondern auch finanziell entlohnen.
